Managed by Chiang Mai Wellbeing Social Enterprise. Mountain views, garden pool, spa, yoga, hydrotherapy, and wellness meals. Meditative atmosphere throughout. Insda sits in Ban Pong, Hang Dong district, in the green hills outside Chiang Mai city. It works as a resort and a retreat venue at once, with rooms that run from deluxe doubles to a three-bedroom Lanna house. The core practice is Elements Harmonize: body preparation, Surya Namaskar, pranayama, chanting and Anapanasati breath meditation. Guests can add guided Yoga Nidra, a group cacao ceremony with intention setting and sharing, sound sessions with bowls and handpan (indoors or in the pool), and supported floating with guided movement in water. The Cocoon

Nam Phrae, Hang Dong, Chiang Mai, Thailand

Twenty minutes south of Chiang Mai among the rice fields of Nam Phrae. Earthen domes built on sacred geometry, a herbal steam dome fed with fresh herbs from the garden, a wood-fired barrel sauna, saltwater pool, and ice baths. Part day sanctuary, part gathering place for breathwork, sound, and ceremony. The Cocoon is at 167 Moo 3, Nam Phrae, in Hang Dong. Its domes, round huts and open-air pavilions are built from clay, bamboo and stone, and the herbal steam room is shaped like a bell. Alongside it are a wood-fired dry sauna, ice baths and a saltwater pool, with food and drinks on site. It works as a walk-in day visit rather than a booked treatment, open from midday into the evening and later on Thursdays, so check current hours before going. It suits anyone who wants a long afternoon of heat and cold close to the city, and people who spend too long at a desk.

Om Waters

Sri Lanna National Park, Chiang Mai, Thailand

A floating sanctuary on a still mountain lake in Sri Lanna. Breathwork, energy work, TRE, cacao ceremony, and meditation, held by facilitators who work with the whole being and not the symptom. Om Waters is five floating houseboats on Mae Ngat Somboon Chon Lake, reached through Sri Lanna National Park: about an hour by road from Chiang Mai, then 30 minutes by boat. It runs off-grid on solar power. The centrepiece is a 120 square metre floating yoga shala. Base Camp sleeps up to 22 in simple twin rooms, and three vegan and vegetarian meals a day come from the Cat House Chiang Mai kitchen. Kayaks are on hand. It works mainly as a venue: retreat leaders bring groups of eight or more for yoga, meditation, dance, massage training and healing workshops, November to February. Individuals can book unclaimed dates on Airbnb, released each August, and share the space as a floating homestay.

Heart Space Bali

Ubud, Bali, Indonesia

An Ubud sanctuary of sacred sound and Balinese ritual. Cacao ceremony, yin, and vibration used to restore the harmony that was always underneath the noise. Heart Space is at 1 Nyuh Kuning Road in central Ubud. Amanda Ashleigh Tylor founded it in 2020 and runs it with co-owner Wieland Stolzenburg. It calls itself a sound based space for nervous system healing, not a typical yoga studio. Balinese healers give Balinese healing massage and pranic healing massage, alongside acupuncture and chakra healing. Next door is Flourish, a fully gluten free restaurant. Collective Awakening

Truckee, California, USA

A breathwork and meditation retreat center in the Sierra, home to the SoulFlow method. Inner healing pursued in common, because no one wakes up alone. Collective Awakening is the practice of founder Mahsa Ghafourian in Truckee, California. She offers meditation, breathwork, energy healing, Akashic record reading, integration support and spiritual coaching, and runs Grof Breathwork retreats. SoulFlow Breathwork is her method: deep, rapid breathing to reach an altered state, music that moves from intense to calm, hands-on bodywork only if the breather asks, then a sharing circle and drawing or journaling. Retreats add hiking, cold plunge swimming and kayaking. The breathing is built to bring up repressed memories and strong release, so it suits people ready for cathartic work. Private integration sessions support people processing psychedelic experiences and spiritual emergencies.

Spirit Camp

Mendocino, California, USA

A retreat sanctuary in the Mendocino redwoods. Holotropic breathwork, somatic healing, and ecstatic dance held under trees that have kept time far longer than we have. Spirit Camp is a queer-owned retreat centre on 27 acres of coastal redwoods in Little River, 12 minutes from Mendocino town and three hours north of San Francisco. Co-founders Julian Cressman and Nathaniel Reagan run it. Most retreats are led by independent facilitators who rent the land and set their own programme. On site: seven cabins, seasonal bell tents, a Finnish sauna, a cold plunge and a redwood trail. The camp is substance-free: no alcohol, cannabis or recreational substances. It suits clear-headed group work, and not anyone planning to drink or use while there.

Founder Aaron Parker describes himself as a qualified breathwork guide, coach and leader in meditation and nature therapy, with more than ten years in the work. He has shared breathwork and forest bathing on BBC's Robson Green's Weekend Escapes. Much of it happens outdoors: wild sauna sessions that pair wood fired heat with cold water and breath, nature retreats and therapy walks, and adventure days with paddleboarding, cliff jumping and cold water immersion. Yoga, breathwork and meditation classes run in the Conscious Hub Dome. There is also 1:1 coaching, training courses, and private and corporate bookings. Jason Ryer

Chiang Mai, Thailand · Online

Jason Ryer is the founder of Zen Strength, a breathwork, ice bath and nervous-system coaching practice in Chiang Mai, Thailand.[1] He has guided more than 2,000 people through breathwork and cold exposure, and has been working from Chiang Mai for more than five years.[1][2] He came to it from more than fifteen years in technology, including as a software engineer at IBM, followed by his own startup and consulting ventures.[1][3] That career ended in a health crisis: chest pains and a racing heart that doctors could not fully explain. Looking for answers, he went into fasting, nutrition and biohacking, and eventually trained with Wim Hof.[3][4] He is a certified Bulletproof and Human Potential Coach, trained through Dave Asprey's Bulletproof coaching programme, and his work pairs old breath and cold practices with the nervous-system science that explains them.[1][4] He coaches one to one, runs group ice bath and breathwork events, and teaches sleep masterclasses.[1]

Chelsae Zirna

· Online

Chelsae Zirna is an Intimacy Practitioner who works at the intersection of relationships, embodiment, sexuality, emotional safety and authentic self-expression. Her work is rooted in a simple idea: intimacy is not about sex. Intimacy is about truth. Chelsae creates spaces for people to become more deeply connected to themselves, their bodies and the people they love. She works with individuals and couples to explore the places where intimacy can become blocked by fear, shame, disconnection, old patterns or the strategies we develop to protect ourselves. Drawing from tantric arts, embodiment, authentic relating, breathwork, shadow work, masculine and feminine dynamics and years of experience facilitating transformational spaces, Chelsae's work invites people beyond intellectual understanding and into lived experience. Her path to this work began in entrepreneurship and corporate America, eventually taking her around the world and into a deeper exploration of consciousness, spirituality, relationships and the body. Along the way she built international communities, created retreats and festivals, facilitated thousands of people through transformational experiences, and developed a body of work centered on returning people to what is most authentic within them. Today, intimacy is at the heart of that work.

Maxwell Honey

Chiang Mai, Thailand · Online

Maxwell Honey had to heal himself before he could help anyone else heal. Addiction and a debilitating sickness took his late teen years, and what changed the course of his life at 21 years old was an experience with kambo, an ancient medicine which is from the secretion of an Amazonian tree frog pressed into small burns on the skin. Since then, he has worked with indigenous medicine for more than fifteen years.[4] He is a trauma resolution coach, a breathwork facilitator and a plant medicine man, based out of Chiang Mai, but travels the world. He coaches one to one online and runs immersive retreats. When working with clients, Max does not work through the story of what happened. He works on the understanding that the imprint is in the body, so the body is where he works.[1] He is not going to march you back into the worst thing that ever happened to you.[1] What he aims to build for his clients is to bring them back to safety, connection and joy.[1] He trained in somatic experiencing, breathwork facilitation and earth medicine ceremony. He has his own style of breathwork called Satori Breathwork, in which the five modules work on nervous system fundamentals through to deep journey work.[1] The medicine is the other half of him. He was initiated into ayahuasca in the Amazon, iboga in Africa, and has the ability to hold space for many more.[2][3]
