Chakra reader, TRE provider and somatic coach, Thailand
Sarah Cura reads chakras with a pendulum. She holds it over each of the seven centres in turn and tells the story its movement gives back: which chakras are over-active, which are lethargic, and how that shows up in a life.[3] She reads in person and at a distance, and teaches the method to others.[4][5]
The rest of her work is in the body. She is a certified provider of TRE, the Tension and Trauma Releasing Exercises developed by David Berceli, and a Somatic Integration Practitioner, and her SOUL | LIFE Coaching works with breath, body scanning and grounding.[6][7][11][14]
A significant event in 2010 sent her into yoga teacher training, which she completed at Devanadi Yoga in 2012 and 2013.[2][12][13] She lives in the mountains of Thailand, where she also makes malas and pendulums.[1]
A reading with Sarah involves using a pendulum to assess each chakra in turn, then having a conversation about the map that was created from the pendulum movements.[3] "One of my main jobs in a reading is to tell you what you already know but in a way that you can really understand it from a new perspective," she says.[3] She reads in person and at a distance.[4]
She taught the method as a workshop in the United States and in Thailand, and it became her most popular one.[5] She wrote it up as a self-guided workbook and then recorded it: How to Read Chakras with a Pendulum runs to 24 lectures on Udemy, has 140 students and is rated 4.8 out of 5.[4][5] The book of the same name is on Amazon.[8]
In August 2024 Sarah qualified as a certified provider of TRE, studying in an 11-month program.[11] A session is seven short muscle activations, beginning at the ankles, that bring the body to its own tremor so the nervous system can let go.[6] She guides people through it online and in small groups.[6]
In September 2026 she completed the Somatic Integration Practitioner training at Inner Wellsprings Academy, under Shana Neril.[14] Her SOUL | LIFE Coaching works with breath, body scanning and grounding, with energetic work where the client wants it, towards a person's soul purpose.[7] She is clear about its edges: it is not psychotherapy, and when someone needs more she refers them on.[7]
Under all of it is yoga. She completed Devanadi Yoga's 235-hour teacher training under its founder, Tanya Boigenzahn, in April 2012, and its 340-hour training in September 2013.[12][13]
In mid-November 2019 Sarah woke with a clear message from Spirit to write a book about self-love.[8] She wrote "Self-Love Book" on the first page of a notebook and took notes for a year and a half. Then, on a trip to the sea, between sunrises and snorkelling, she sorted them, and within three months she had written her first book.[8] Self-Love Is the Key runs from shadow work and inner-child work to boundaries, radical honesty and tapping, and comes as a workbook and an ebook, with a Spanish edition.[10][8]
Her children's book, May Everyone Be Happy and Free, is built on the mantra Lokah Samastah Sukhino Bhavantu. It follows Mana through a day of blessing the morning and feeling grateful, and it has been translated into Spanish, French, Portuguese, German, Italian, Turkish, Hindi and Thai.[9]
Sarah started selling jewellery from a blanket in the parking lot of a Grateful Dead show.[2] From 1999 to 2012 she had shops in Minneapolis, in Calhoun Square and Dinkytown, and for over three decades now, she has worked at festivals and conventions.[2]
She still makes malas, chakra jewellery and pendulums, to order as well as from stock, and has been at CityLife Festival in Chiang Mai since 2019.[1][2] Her pieces are stocked at Chiang Mai Holistic and at Magus Books in Minneapolis.[2]
