A retreat sanctuary in the Mendocino redwoods. Holotropic breathwork, somatic healing, and ecstatic dance held under trees that have kept time far longer than we have. Spirit Camp is a queer-owned retreat centre on 27 acres of coastal redwoods in Little River, 12 minutes from Mendocino town and three hours north of San Francisco. Co-founders Julian Cressman and Nathaniel Reagan run it. Most retreats are led by independent facilitators who rent the land and set their own programme. The calendar includes breathwork healer training, ecstatic dance, shadow work, fire ritual, cacao ceremony, kirtan, and women's and gay men's retreats. On site: seven cabins, seasonal bell tents, a Finnish sauna, a cold plunge and a redwood trail. The camp is substance-free: no alcohol, cannabis or recreational substances. It suits clear-headed group work, and not anyone planning to drink or use while there.
Lorraine May Levy holds a PhD in Jungian and Archetypal Psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute, awarded in 2020, and teaches as adjunct faculty in the Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology programme at Sofia University.[1] Her teaching focus is trauma survivors, approached through Jungian and archetypal theory.[1] She came to all of it the hard way. She returned to formal education at thirty, as a single mother of five, and worked her way from an associate degree at West Valley College to a doctorate.[1] Her dissertation brought together the image of the goddess Persephone, underworld trauma, and the practice of providing clothing to victims of sexual assault.[1] Outside the university she works as a depth psychologist, educator, integrative wellness guide, and retreat and therapeutic process facilitator.[2] Her clients come to her with addiction recovery, anxiety and other life transitions, and she works with them through art, dreams and storytelling.[2] She is based between Thailand and Italy and works with clients worldwide.[2]
Chelsae Zirna is an Intimacy Practitioner who works at the intersection of relationships, embodiment, sexuality, emotional safety and authentic self-expression. Her work is rooted in a simple idea: intimacy is not about sex. Intimacy is about truth. Chelsae creates spaces for people to become more deeply connected to themselves, their bodies and the people they love. She works with individuals and couples to explore the places where intimacy can become blocked by fear, shame, disconnection, old patterns or the strategies we develop to protect ourselves. Drawing from tantric arts, embodiment, authentic relating, breathwork, shadow work, masculine and feminine dynamics and years of experience facilitating transformational spaces, Chelsae's work invites people beyond intellectual understanding and into lived experience. Her path to this work began in entrepreneurship and corporate America, eventually taking her around the world and into a deeper exploration of consciousness, spirituality, relationships and the body. Along the way she built international communities, created retreats and festivals, facilitated thousands of people through transformational experiences, and developed a body of work centered on returning people to what is most authentic within them. Today, intimacy is at the heart of that work.
Jungian practitioner and coach, working with shadow and with the parts of a person that run the show from underneath. He is associated with the Carl Jung Circle Center in the Philippines, the association working to carry Carl Jung's depth psychology into Filipino life, and the Center's own website carried his photograph among its people. Kelly Phoenix Rose is a medicine woman, shadow worker, integrative therapist and spiritual guide who works with women's health, cancer and chronic illness.[1] She is also a colonic hydrotherapist, a yoga and breathwork facilitator and a ceremonialist, with more than twenty-five years of training behind her.[2] Her own health is where the work comes from. She lived with chronic menstrual disorders for more than fifteen years before a cancer diagnosis, which she calls the initiation that woke up what she now teaches.[1] She reached remission within six months and has been in remission for eleven years.[2][3] She works through one-to-one consultations, a seasonal detox, an online yoga and breathwork membership, and a course of her own, Sacred Feminine Energy Training.[1][2][5] She also hosts the podcast Cancer & Sacred Feminine Energy Truths.[4]
Bradley McDevitt is an American executive coach and depth psychology scholar in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, working with leaders at an inflection point.[1] He is an Associate Certified Coach with the International Coaching Federation and a certified practitioner of Presence-Based Coaching, and he holds an MA in Depth Psychology and Creativity from Pacifica Graduate Institute, where he now teaches as adjunct faculty.[2][3] His practice rests on a thirty year career in professional theatre, which came first and still supplies the method.[1] Out of it he built Theater of Self, an intensive that puts physical theatre, Jungian depth psychology and Iain McGilchrist's work on the divided brain in one room, and runs it through movement, voice and improvisation.[4] He is also certified to deliver the WorkPlace Big Five, ISI, PerSight and Benchmark 360 assessments as an affiliate of the Center for Creative Leadership, and works alongside Michael Valverde at Coherence Lab on organisational clarity.[1]
Todd B. Peyton, MA, LPC, KYI, is an American psychotherapist with more than twenty years of practice in depth-oriented psychotherapy, Jungian dream analysis and somatic and energetic work.[1] He sees clients in Hang Dong, outside Chiang Mai, Thailand, and in Bangkok, the Philippines and Greece, with telehealth sessions for clients in the United States.[1][4] He trained at Pacifica Graduate Institute in California, taking a master's in counselling psychology with a focus in depth psychology.[2] Alongside the clinical training he spent extended periods ordained as a Buddhist monk at Kyiatisaung Monastery in Thaton, Myanmar, and studied dreams in analysis with the Jungian author Robert Johnson and with the Trappist monk Father Gregory Santos.[2] He is also a certified Kundalini Yoga Instructor, and his offerings include Asclepian Detoxification.[1] He has brought that practice to the Henosis community directly, most recently leading a kidney kriya session for a Henosis group.[3]
