Psychotherapist, dream analyst and Kundalini yoga instructor, Chiang Mai, Thailand
Todd B. Peyton, MA, LPC, KYI, is an American psychotherapist with more than twenty years of practice in depth-oriented psychotherapy, Jungian dream analysis and somatic and energetic work.[1] He sees clients in Hang Dong, outside Chiang Mai, Thailand, and in Bangkok, the Philippines and Greece, with telehealth sessions for clients in the United States.[1][4]
He trained at Pacifica Graduate Institute in California, taking a master's in counselling psychology with a focus in depth psychology.[2] Alongside the clinical training he spent extended periods ordained as a Buddhist monk at Kyiatisaung Monastery in Thaton, Myanmar, and studied dreams in analysis with the Jungian author Robert Johnson and with the Trappist monk Father Gregory Santos.[2]
He is also a certified Kundalini Yoga Instructor, and his offerings include Asclepian Detoxification.[1] He has brought that practice to the Henosis community directly, most recently leading a kidney kriya session for a Henosis group.[3]
Todd holds a master's degree in counselling psychology with a focus in depth psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute.[2] Before that he spent two years studying Chinese medicine in Hawaii.[2] He practises as a Licensed Professional Counselor and a certified Kundalini Yoga Instructor.[1]
Todd spent extended periods ordained as a Buddhist monk at Kyiatisaung Monastery in Thaton, Myanmar.[2]
His dream training came through analysis with four people. Robert Johnson, the Jungian author and lecturer. Father Gregory Santos, a Trappist monk in Flagstaff, Arizona. Meredith Moon in Maui, Hawaii. And Dr Anita Chapman of the Intermont Jungian Society in North Carolina.[2]
He moved to Thailand in 2009, following "a long standing dialogue with the inner world of dreams."[2]
Todd has worked in some demanding settings. He was a school therapist in rural Hawaii and on the Navajo Nation in Arizona, a psychotherapist in Thai recovery centres, and for eight years a civilian therapist attached to the U.S. military overseas.[2]
He opened his private practice in 2013, with an emphasis on dream analysis for individuals and couples.[2] Today it is based in Hang Dong, outside Chiang Mai, with in-person work in Bangkok, the Philippines and Greece and telehealth for clients in the United States.[1][4] His work is trauma-informed and starts with the nervous system, and much of it has been with American veterans and with professionals worn down by burnout.[3]
Todd offers Asclepian Detoxification alongside Jungian dream analysis and mind-body integration work.[1] His view of Kundalini is practical: "The whole purpose of Kundalini is to develop consciousness and free will... All of these exercises are just preparing the stage for you to become more aware of your body, your emotions, your thoughts, your intuitions, and your entire personality."[3]
He led a kidney kriya practice for a Henosis group, starting at the soles of the feet and working up through the chakras. He explains the physiology behind the sequence, including why alternate nostril breathing and the pineal gland matter for regulating the nervous system.[3]
