Insda Wellness Resort
Managed by Chiang Mai Wellbeing Social Enterprise. Mountain views, garden pool, spa, yoga, hydrotherapy, and wellness meals. Meditative atmosphere throughout. Insda sits in Ban Pong, Hang Dong district, in the green hills outside Chiang Mai city. It works as a resort and a retreat venue at once, with rooms that run from deluxe doubles to a three-bedroom Lanna house. The team behind the former Amaravati Wellness Center has operated here since March 2025. The core practice is Elements Harmonize: body preparation, Surya Namaskar, pranayama, chanting and Anapanasati breath meditation. Guests can add guided Yoga Nidra, a group cacao ceremony with intention setting and sharing, sound sessions with bowls and handpan (indoors or in the pool), and supported floating with guided movement in water. It takes individual stays, families, retreat groups and meetings, and it is pet friendly.
Amaravati Wellness Center
Built according to Vastu principles. The name means live, seed, and immortality. Five elements, Ayurvedic meals, herbal steam, cold plunge, sound therapy, ceremony, 360-degree mountain views.
Banahaw Circle Nature Retreat
At the foot of Mt. Banahaw, the Philippines' sacred mountain. DOT Mabuhay accredited. Traditional hilot healing, slow food, sacred pilgrimages, retreats held in reverence for the living Earth. Banahaw Circle is a bed and breakfast retreat in the Holy Trinity Compound, Barangay Santa Lucia, Dolores, Quezon. Guests sleep in the Nature Villa or the Art House, in rustic rooms from singles to dorms. Up to 80 percent of the food is farmed in the rainforest by local partners. Hilot massage comes through The Hilot Hub, accredited as a hilot healing and training centre. Guests can walk the Banahaw pamumuesto, the pilgrim's route to the mountain's sacred sites. The calendar runs yoga and astrology circles, a sacred sound and ceremony retreat, family and dog companion retreats, student packages and corporate workshops. Co-founder Jeannie Javelosa teaches astrology and the Enneagram.
The Cocoon
Twenty minutes south of Chiang Mai among the rice fields of Nam Phrae. Earthen domes built on sacred geometry, a herbal steam dome fed with fresh herbs from the garden, a wood-fired barrel sauna, saltwater pool, and ice baths. Part day sanctuary, part gathering place for breathwork, sound, and ceremony. The Cocoon is at 167 Moo 3, Nam Phrae, in Hang Dong. Its domes, round huts and open-air pavilions are built from clay, bamboo and stone, and the herbal steam room is shaped like a bell. Alongside it are a wood-fired dry sauna, ice baths and a saltwater pool, with food and drinks on site. It works as a walk-in day visit rather than a booked treatment, open from midday into the evening and later on Thursdays, so check current hours before going. It suits anyone who wants a long afternoon of heat and cold close to the city, and people who spend too long at a desk.
Heart Space Bali
An Ubud sanctuary of sacred sound and Balinese ritual. Cacao ceremony, yin, and vibration used to restore the harmony that was always underneath the noise. Heart Space is at 1 Nyuh Kuning Road in central Ubud. Amanda Ashleigh Tylor founded it in 2020 and runs it with co-owner Wieland Stolzenburg. It calls itself a sound based space for nervous system healing, not a typical yoga studio. The timetable, 6:30am to 10pm daily, covers yin and restorative yoga, sound healing, yoga nidra, breathwork, meditation and cacao ceremony. Balinese healers give Balinese healing massage and pranic healing massage, alongside acupuncture and chakra healing. Next door is Flourish, a fully gluten free restaurant. The five day Nervous System Reset retreat adds sound immersions and massage, with no expectation to fill every hour. Classes are open to all levels, and some suit kids and teens.
Pyramids of Chi
A sound healing temple built to the geometry of the pyramids. Moon ceremonies, breath and voice, and vibration journeys that move the body without moving the feet. Pyramids of Chi is at Jalan Kelebang Moding 22, Bentuyung, Ubud. Peter and Lynn McIntosh founded it in 2013. The pyramids are built to scale with the Great Pyramid of Giza, with a 52 degree base angle and one wall aligned to true north. A newer AMA Multisensory Dome sits alongside them. Sessions run all day on a fixed timetable: Ancient Sound Healing, Scalar Healing Energy, Light Sound Vibration and the dome. Around them are moon ceremonies, breathwork, meditation, yoga, tea and cacao ceremonies, workshops and 1:1 sessions. There is a gluten free vegan cafe, a gift shop, gardens, group bookings and a practitioner residency. First time meditators and seasoned practitioners both come.
Sedonya Conscious Living Center
A sanctuary for sacred retreat held inside a living ceremonial field in the Sedona red rock. Collective awakening in partnership with wisdom keepers, never a performance for tourists. Sedonya is a retreat and event campus on Deer Trail Drive in Sedona, owned by Sedona Creative Life Center, a nondenominational 501(c)(3) nonprofit. The Cathedral holds up to 55 retreat guests, the gardens hold a medicine lodge and ceremony fire, and a Temple in a grove of trees is open to anyone who wants to sit. Retreat leaders rent the campus, and guests sleep in nearby hotels and rentals. Weekly classes include vinyasa, yin, a women's frame drum circle, crystal bowl sound healing, and ceremony with medicine songs led by Uqualla. It has hosted Gaden Shartse monks and a day for the Q'ero. Scholarships and donation-based programmes keep some offerings open to people who cannot pay full rate.
Conscious Flow
Somatic trauma therapy and breathwork in the Byron Bay hinterland. Transformational retreats that treat the body as the door and not the obstacle. Conscious Flow is the practice of Sophie Sämrow. She lists her training as somatic trauma and EMDR therapist, breathwork facilitator, NLP master practitioner, sound healer, meditation teacher and cacao ceremonialist. She runs private sessions and group breathwork in the hinterland, plus an online 21-Day Nervous System Reset. Ceremony sits beside the therapy: cacao, rapé, shamanic breathwork and plant medicine integration. The Vision Quest runs four days and three nights of fasting without food or water, alone in the hills, with daily sweat lodges, led by Heriberto, an elder from Mexico trained in a Lakota and Mexica lineage. Overseas retreats go to Peru's Sacred Valley, Machu Picchu and Ausangate.
The Breath Haus
A modern breathwork movement with immersive studios across Australia. Science forward in its language, ceremonial in its effect, pointed at the state beyond the thinking mind. The studios are in Balaclava, Victoria, on Carlisle Street, and at Bondi Pavilion in Sydney, with Burleigh announced as coming next. Events also run at 1 Hotel in Docklands. Classes come in three formats: LSD, a slow flow breathwork into deep meditation; Release, a dynamic, activating session; and Somatic, conscious breathing with subtle guided movement. Mat pilates and sound sessions fill out the timetable. There are also 1:1 sessions, an app, group and corporate bookings, and facilitator training. It suits city people who want breathwork on a weekly schedule for stress, sleep and focus. It is a studio, not a residential retreat.
Pachamama Hampina Wasi
The house of Mother Earth's healing, in the Sacred Valley above Laguna de Huaypo, facing Apu Wanakauri. Founded 2017. Andean ceremony and ritual, healing of the five bodies, sacred plant medicine held with spiritual guidance, initiations, sound and energetic cleansing. The lineage is not imported here, it is the ground the place stands on.
The Xperience
An immersive art world in the Lipa Noi jungle on Koh Samui, where installation, projection and technology meet water and dark. Ten zones, four pools and hyper-realistic sculpture, and alongside them a wellness quarter built rather than gestured at: a Sound Temple, a spa, sanctum pods and a cafe, each one hand-sculpted out of the earth it stands on. Family days by daylight, adults after it.
Mahasiddha Yoga
A Tantra and yoga school in Chiang Mai, and the ashram it built to teach in. Founded by Uriel Yariv and Blandine Wegener, who are both psychologists as well as teachers, and who wrote the four courses the school is known for: the Tantra Immersion, the Emotional Healing Course, the Path to Purpose programme and the Lucid Dreaming Course. The Tantra Immersion runs in four levels and people come back for the next one, which is the most useful thing you can know about a school. Residential work happens at Amrita Integral Yoga Centre, twenty five minutes east of the old city in San Kamphaeng, purpose-built on sacred architecture principles with a wooden practice hall, a garden, a pool, and rooms for about forty. They also run silent meditation retreats over New Year, women's circles, and a full online catalogue. The teaching is esoteric Tantra in the classical sense rather than the workshop sense: chakra by chakra, with lectures, and with the couples and continence material taught openly as part of the tradition.
LJ Navera
LJ Navera is a Filipino master craftsman, sound alchemist and artist in Lipa City, Batangas.[1] He can play more than a hundred instruments and made most of them himself: didgeridoos, handpans, Native American flutes, African djembes and shamanic drums.[1] In 2023 he built the first handpan made in the Philippines.[2] He was never trained in music. Everything he composes and everything he plays is intuitive.[1] He is also a recognised painter and sculptor, a professional tattoo artist and an art therapy facilitator.[4] He combines them when he works with others. He was a pioneer resident sound healer and art therapy facilitator at The Farm at San Benito.[1] He has been in recovery from depression for more than twenty-five years and works as an addiction professional and a life coach,[4] and he was the resident sound healer at the 2022 National Mental Health Summit, run by Mind You with the Philippine Department of Health.[4]
Carlos Daniel Balam
Carlos performs as Cardan Balam, a musician and ceremonialist who fuses pre-Hispanic instruments, prayer and live electronic production. His touring project is Cardan Balam Ancestral Music.[1][2] Born in Atlixco, Puebla, he leads cacao ceremonies, temazcal and Hikuri ceremonies from his own ceremonial space in Playa del Carmen, on the Caribbean coast of the Yucatán.[1] His path crossed with Mayan culture and with Wixárika (Huichol) shamans when he was young, and he represents Wixárika, Mexica and Maya shamans today.[1] He founded Colectivo Cultura Ancestral, and with his family works to preserve Mayan lands and heritage in the Yucatán.[1] He has released music since 2021, most of it on the Balam Music Label, and in July 2024 he led the Tribal Village at Dreamersland Festival in Poland.[5][6] In November 2023 he was one of three credited artists on Sukum Balam, a five-track electronica album on the Balam Music label.[3] His verified Instagram, @cardan_balam_musica, has more than 26,000 followers.[2]
Marleni
Marleni is the founder of Pachamama Hampina Wasi, an Andean ceremonial centre near Lake Huaypo in Maras, Urubamba, in Peru's Sacred Valley, where she leads ceremony, initiation, sound healing and retreats.[1][3] She is also a clinical psychotherapist, qualified in 2012, who specialises in transgenerational and personal trauma.[2] She calls herself "hija de la Pachamama", a daughter of Pachamama. She was born in Huancayo, Junín, with ancestors from Puno and the Pukina line, and grew up in a household where her parents spoke Quechua and Aymara.[2] Her knowledge of plants came from her mother.[2] In 2005 she won permanent residency in the United States through the visa lottery and moved there to pursue a second master's degree, in international business.[2] The call to come home and build a healing centre came in 2016. She was guided to the land in 2017, and in March 2023 she returned to build it.[2][3]
Deshna Di
Deshna Di teaches yoga and Tantra at Mahasiddha Yoga in Chiang Mai, Thailand, and guides sound healing.[1] They came to the practice through Tibetan Buddhism and kinesiology, have taught yoga since 2015, and have guided sound healing since 2017.[1] In 2018 Tantra became the heart of their path, "opening the door to systematical practice, continuous transformation, and a life centered in love, devotion, compassion, and aspiration."[1] They are one of three teachers on the school's 7 Chakras Retreat, alongside Uriel Yariv and Iris Smeets.[2]
