Intimacy Practitioner, Tantric Arts Facilitator & Embodiment Guide
Chelsae Zirna is an Intimacy Practitioner who works at the intersection of relationships, embodiment, sexuality, emotional safety and authentic self-expression.
Her work is rooted in a simple idea: intimacy is not about sex. Intimacy is about truth.
Chelsae creates spaces for people to become more deeply connected to themselves, their bodies and the people they love. She works with individuals and couples to explore the places where intimacy can become blocked by fear, shame, disconnection, old patterns or the strategies we develop to protect ourselves.
Drawing from tantric arts, embodiment, authentic relating, breathwork, shadow work, masculine and feminine dynamics and years of experience facilitating transformational spaces, Chelsae's work invites people beyond intellectual understanding and into lived experience.
Her path to this work began in entrepreneurship and corporate America, eventually taking her around the world and into a deeper exploration of consciousness, spirituality, relationships and the body. Along the way she built international communities, created retreats and festivals, facilitated thousands of people through transformational experiences, and developed a body of work centered on returning people to what is most authentic within them.
Today, intimacy is at the heart of that work.
Chelsae grew up in Buffalo, New York, where competitive gymnastics was her first great devotion. An injury during her junior year of high school ended that chapter and opened the door to a different kind of exploration.
A love of ballroom dancing opened her into the language of movement, energy and the body. Travel then became a catalyst for a much larger transformation. After leaving corporate life, Chelsae spent extended periods living and traveling internationally, including in Spain and Bali, while immersing herself in personal development, mindfulness, spirituality and consciousness work.
Her experiences eventually led her toward tantra, embodiment, breathwork, authentic relating and deeper explorations of intimacy.
What began as a search for her own freedom became a lifelong inquiry into what allows human beings to feel safe enough to be fully themselves.
That inquiry is now at the center of her work.
Chrysalis is a coaching company running online and in-person experiences, co-founded by Chelsae and Jessica Marshall.[1][2] It has more than 300 coaches, more than 2,000 participants and more than eight festivals behind it, with reach across more than 30 countries.[2] The two spent three years building it around what they call the seven stages of transformation, a story they tell in a February 2023 episode of her podcast, "Our Chrysalis Founders Story."[8]
Its programmes are Emergence, a free online immersion; Chrysalis Community, a paid membership; Metamorphosis, a year-long programme; and Luminescence, an in-person retreat.[2]
Over the years, Chelsae has created and facilitated festivals, retreats, workshops, ceremonies, online experiences and transformational gatherings internationally.
Her teaching has evolved alongside her own journey, moving through personal development and conscious leadership into increasingly embodied explorations of intimacy, sexuality, relationships, tantric arts and authentic expression.
She has taught and facilitated practices that invite people to explore the relationship between the body, emotions, desire, communication and consciousness.
Her podcast and conversations with other teachers, practitioners and transformational thinkers have provided another space for exploring the deeper questions of being human: how we love, how we relate, what keeps us disconnected, and what becomes possible when we are willing to meet ourselves more honestly.
Across all of these formats, her work is experiential.
Chelsae is less interested in giving people another philosophy to believe in than in creating experiences through which they can discover something true for themselves.
Today, Chelsae identifies primarily as an Intimacy Practitioner.
Her work explores intimacy as a relationship with self, with the body, with another person and with life itself.
She works with individuals and couples around the places where intimacy becomes difficult: communication, emotional safety, vulnerability, boundaries, desire, sexuality, self-expression, trust, relational patterns and the ability to remain connected while being fully oneself.
Her approach is embodied rather than purely intellectual. The body often knows something before the mind is ready to acknowledge it, and learning to listen to that information can fundamentally change the way we relate.
For couples, this can mean learning how to create greater emotional safety, communicate more honestly, navigate difference and conflict, restore connection and cultivate a more alive intimate relationship.
For individuals, the work can mean reconnecting with desire, sensation, boundaries, emotional truth and the parts of themselves that have been suppressed, abandoned or adapted away.
Tantric arts provide one of the foundational influences in her work. Chelsae also draws from Authentic Relating and Embodied Authentic Relating, Rebirthing Breathwork, NLP, Reiki, masculine and feminine dynamics, embodiment, astrology, shadow work and spiritual wisdom.
These are not separate identities or modalities she asks people to adopt. They are bodies of knowledge and experience that have informed the way she understands human transformation and intimacy.
Ultimately, Chelsae's work is about creating enough safety for truth to emerge.
Because when we can feel ourselves, communicate what is true, stay present with another person and inhabit our bodies more fully, intimacy becomes something much larger than sex.
It becomes a way of living.
