At a glance

The short answers

What happens at a night?
It opens with a sound bath of gongs, Himalayan bowls and crystal bowls. Then the ceremony: ceremonial grade cacao, a guided meditation, and a music circle that carries into the night.
Who holds them?
Kane Lorhpipat, the Bangkok breathwork speaker and musician who founded The Awakening, and Kate of Auralis Sound Healing, with guest ceremonialists when they are in the city.
How long is it?
An afternoon into the evening. The sound bath starts at 3.30pm and the ceremony guests are welcomed from 4.30pm.
Do I need to have meditated before?
No. You lie down, you listen, you drink the cacao. That is enough.
The people

Who you sit with

Kane, Sarun Lorhpipat, is a Bangkok health and wellness entrepreneur, chiropractor and breathwork speaker who gave his TEDx talk at Harrow International School Bangkok. He founded The Awakening, the Bangkok community that brings the music circle to Henosis nights.

Kate leads Auralis Sound Healing. Her Inner Stillness Soundbath is gongs, Himalayan bowls and crystal bowls, played to a room of people lying still. It is capped at ten places a night so there is space for everyone to lie down.

Questions

What people ask

What is cacao, and is it safe?

Ceremonial cacao is whole cacao bean, ground and prepared as a warm drink. It is food. It has a little caffeine and theobromine, about as much as a strong cup of tea. If you take medication for your heart or for depression, ask your doctor first.

What should I bring?

Comfortable clothes you can lie down in, and an open mind. The rest is there for you.

Is there somewhere to meditate in Bangkok every week?

Henosis runs nights, not a weekly class. Put your name on the Bangkok list and you hear about each one first.

Can I go deeper than one night?

Yes. Meditate with a Master Monk Retreat and the Kundalini retreat with Todd Peyton run in Chiang Mai. Both are listed on the Henosis Bangkok page.
