What this is

Conversations with the humans building the new world, who all have a secret.

The secret is the inner life. The practice, the awakening, the thing that made the outer work possible, and that almost nobody says out loud on record.

It isn't a podcast. It's a real conversation. If Cameron gets triggered, he sits in it, on camera. If he catches himself judging, he says so. Whatever the guest holds, they get to hold it, and hold it strongly.

Dr Marcos Lago

Psychiatrist, ophthalmologist, neuroscientist, shaman · São Paulo

“We are here to teach people to not use mushrooms.”

Marcos starts with the science: materialism against consciousness, and the brain as a radio. That leads into his life. He was a mystic kid who gave up at 27 as “channel zero” and became a hard materialist doctor. Then in 2020 he took 8 grams alone. From there he gets practical: dosing, using personality types to predict a trip (he says 100% accurate), and getting the mushroom registered as a church sacrament in Brazil. It ends on the part of his Alzheimer's case he couldn't publish.

“And I said, wow, did I die? Not with my mouth, with my head. And the guy on the other side said, yes, you were dead.”

“Everybody had wings like angels. And that was an angel convention. I said, my God, I think I'm in the wrong room.”

“Why are they afraid? Because they don't want to know themselves. They know that inside of them there are a lot of black rooms full of nasty things.”

Meditation music on, bedroom door shut. Ninety minutes in, a neuroscientist decides nothing is happening. Fifteen minutes after the second dose he is inside a tunnel, heading for his own head.
Brazil will not let a doctor do what he does. A room of lawyers and officials hears how he works and gives him a different title. Then they open the constitution.

“It was five hundred kilos of the ayahuasca vine.”

It opens in Gaddafi's Libya and moves through his two lineages, Santo Daime and the Mexican Fuego Sagrado. He describes 13-day dry vision quests and healing through family constellations. The middle covers a dying woman, spirit possession, a near-death tunnel and his eco-village's war with its founder. In the last half hour Cameron tells the penthouse story, and the name of the show comes out live.

“Since I was five, my mom told me to pull in. Not show my belly button. And for forty five years I tucked my belly in. And I realized, what am I doing here? Who am I pleasing?”

“Treat your love as a wild horse. Open space. You cannot put someone in jail. You cannot put yourself in jail either.”

“Don't be ashamed of being a human being. We are taught not to be a human being.”

A dance troupe held inside its hotel by armed guards. Then soldiers barely twenty years old come for a man in the audience, just as the show starts.
Four days, no food, no water. In South Africa, supporting somebody else's vision quest, he walks to a window and throws up something he says was never his.
London. He looks the wrong way crossing the road. The flip over the car takes a few seconds. Inside it, he spends what feels like four hours, and makes a deal.

The first hour is family and origin: her mother's alcoholism, her parents' fall from yacht clubs to dying homeless, and Cameron's own alcoholic upbringing. The middle is money, purpose, and why Cameron's community fizzled. The back half is sex, bodies and relationships, and it's where Cameron discloses the most of any conversation so far.
