Kevin Turner

Director for Asia of the Foundation for Shamanic Studies, and a residential trainer at The Monroe Institute. Thirty years in Asia, studying with shamans, lamas and yogis across a dozen traditions, and he trained directly with Michael Harner from 1997. An MA in linguistics underneath it, a former tenured professorship in Japan, and published work in linguistics and anthropology. He has been an Outreach Trainer for The Monroe Institute since 2003 and an Off-Campus Residential Trainer since 2006, running Hemi-Sync programmes in Japan, Korea, the United States and Mexico, and he practises remote viewing. He has worked alongside indigenous shamans in Indonesia, Mongolia, Nepal, Tibet, Mexico and Peru. His book Sky Shamans of Mongolia, published by North Atlantic Books in 2016, is the field account of that work and it won the prize at the 2018 Festival du Chamanisme. He teaches in seven countries, and he is one of the few people who can hold core shamanism and consciousness research in the same hand without flattening either one.
