Does Resilience Training Work? What the Evidence Shows
Resilience training works a little, for a short time. Meta-analyses find small effects that fade within months, and reviewers rate the evidence low or very low certainty. One-to-one formats and programmes for people under genuine pressure do better. Generic group or online courses aimed at the whole workforce show the weakest results, and one large UK study found no benefit.
Alternatives to Corporate Wellness Programs That Actually Work
The alternatives that work change the conditions creating strain instead of teaching staff to absorb it. The evidence favours changes to management practice, scheduling, staffing, job design and performance review, plus one-to-one work with the leaders who set the pressure. Generic apps, resilience classes and mindfulness sessions show little measurable benefit for the people who attend them.
