Join a ceremony led by a Maraakame Shaman/Healer from Mexico. Participants connect with their ancestors through Kauyumari’s transformation into the Sacred Medicine cactus, Hikuri, and seek messages and healing from the spirit of the medicine during an all-night ceremony with music and songs. The Wixarika aim to preserve balance between humans and nature through their ancestral practices and view the medicine as a teacher and guide to both individual and collective healing. Through the understanding and connection to the natural and spiritual worlds within each of us, as embodied by the elements of fire, air, water, and earth, shamanism teaches us to live in harmony with both.
